Well, we have another podcast today with advanced Marshall Systems, another wonderful podcast where we talk about the, what we love the most commercial roofing Broken Arrow. So let’s talk a real quickly about coatings. You know, the two main types of coatings that we see on a daily basis are elastomeric coatings. And now we’re seeing more and more of silicone based coatings, uh, last American coatings or have hands down. I’ve been the more popular coating over the last 10 or 15 years. Um, why is the most preferred color and these coatings and one reason for the why is it, it’s a cool way. It creates a cool roof system, especially if it has the capability of reflecting UV, uh, that helps, uh, where, you know, a black coating I, if they do make black coatings and I use black coatings, but a black coating can draw in heat and green increase the thermal activity of the roof membrane. We can provide insight into this and more with commercial roofing Broken Arrow.

Where a cool roof, a white coating does completely the opposite. So here with advanced commercial systems, home of the roof nerds, there’s a lot of coatings that we do and commercial roofing broken arrow. So every day we interact with code names and I’ll tell you the last American coatings and my opinion, they’re just, they’re not where they should be. Um, we tend to continually move over into a silicone base coating, no, there. Here’s the main difference between the two. When you go to use a spray spray rig, we call a spray rig or a spray machine to put on a silicon based coating. That spray rig is harder to clean. It’s harder to keep up. It does a lot more damage to the spray rig because of just the very nature of that silicone based coding, the elastomeric coatings, or many times they’re water soluble, meaning that they’re capable of being cleaned up a much easier. We’ll help with commercial roofing Broken Arrow.

So they’re just a lot easier on your spray rig. Now, I’m not saying the last Americans don’t do a good job, but as far as having a lash Tissue, that is my biggest problem with those coatings. And they seem to me to not last as long with the debate, basic degradation of wind and rain and the sun. Now here’s a fact for you, like your basic single ply. The Sun’s sunlight, the basic UV, we’ll tear down a roofing product 3% a year. So imagine 3% a year off of a TPO or PVC or even a coding, uh, being, uh, not being deflected, but beginning to degrade and break down 3% a year. Imagine after 10 years, you’re down from 25 to 35% depending on how the numbers went of the roofs, capability of water shedding and water protection. So that’s a pretty big deal. But I’ll tell you, I have not seen that to be the case at all with silicone coatings.

I don’t know really what their statistics has come out to be in roofing broken Arrow of how much they’re capable of reflecting. But I have to say those silicone coatings that we use, like polyglass, Karnak, Gaco, these are excellent products that the, they have a lasting city. They, um, they stick and adhere very, very well, especially we use a, a poly bright polyglass 95 called poly bright 95. You have to stir it really well, but when you put it on a roof, it does such a great job and adhering to every part of that roof. So here at advanced commercial systems, home with a roof nerds, we are professionals at the installation of silicone elastromeric coatings. Really any type of coding that you have now. We do a lot of repairs with coatings and I find that they really do do, they do a great job of being able to create a water tight membrane in a small area.

And if you pick up, if you took up one or two buckets to do this, yes it is costly but you’re taking care of a problem that’s not going to need any more issues for some time. Now we mix what we do with our silicone coatings. We mix that with using cloth where you’ve probably heard plastic and cloth. That’s a terminology that we’ve heard, you know, using a black cloth and a plastic summit. So with calls, plastic and cloth is is, or Taryn cloth is some terminology from the, from the old days. I’ll tell you what, it has been two years since I have bought plastic summit. Plastics summit is just in my mind outdated. It is not elastic. It dries up and begins to degrade. It is just not a good product if you’re using it on a lot of different type of roofing systems.

I would never use plastics, men on a metal roof. I would never use a black plastic cement on a single ply or a thermostat. There’s just no way or thermoplastic. There’s just no way here in commercial roofing broken Arrow with advanced commercial systems, we’re going to bring to you the products that are best. So we’ve, we’ve turned over to the some of the Geiko products. There’s a Geiko patch that is a patch. It is basically replacing a lot of the plastic and cloth problems of the past and we are able to put this on metal seams and it has the last tricity of working and we use it sometimes with flaw because this is a fiber based patch, a silicone patch that you can just rub it on anything and create this really amazing well adhered watertight seal. So here in commercial roofing broken Arrow, we do this every almost every day or we using this gaco patch and we’re using this to, okay, so coping cap, walls of penetration curbing areas seems I was on a TPO roof about four or five days ago.

It’s about a 200 square TPO roof. No, no, no, no. It’s about a 450 square TPO roof. Very large. And someone had taken pipes from the HVHC units and drug them across the roof and made 10 scars and holes in the TPO. And so I could have gotten some TPO tape, but just because of the location and where things were were located on the roof, I just got some Gaco patch and put it on those holes and they are watertight. That will last as long as the TPO membrane is there. So it really does a great job in Tulsa Sand Springs, a commercial roofing, broken era. It really does a good job to make sure that you get a watertight seal that way water can stop coming into your building envelope. So once again now that’s going back to being a silicone based product. We love the silicone based products.

I think they’re UV. A deflection is second to none. Their capability of not being affected by UV and then also just the basic reflecting of UV. So if you would like a roof restoration estimate and like if you have a black roof or a roof that’s just hot and it’s beginning to the leak. Let me tell you what we do with our roof restoration services here at advanced commercial systems in commercial roofing broken arrow. The first thing we do with a roof restoration system is we’d come out and we inspect, we do a free roof evaluation, we take pictures of problematic areas and we share with you the details. Can these be fixed with a roof restoration process? Because basically we’ll use some cloth, we’ll use some gaco patch or silicone based a fiber product. We’ll use that to fill in holes, fill in areas, fill in problem problematic areas where the actual coating itself doesn’t do as well and we’ll kind of leave gaps.

We’ll come in and fill in all the holes and make sure ponding areas are well taken care of with some cloth and we’ll do some extra coding and, and pawning errors. So when we do that, we’re creating a really a water tight seal on your roof before we’ve ever coded it. We’re finding every area with issues. We’re addressing those first and then we come in and we put our coating on the roof. Now sometimes we need a power wash, sometimes we need a broom and blow, but we need to get your roof. Every area of that really good. And uh, just just nice and clean. A spotless clean, whether you know there’s no dirt buildup, there’s nothing but just basically roof. And then we need to let it dry. It needs to come to a place in commercial roofing broken Arrow where it’s dry and it’s able to receive a code.

Now most of the coatings that we use special the summer silicon based, they are what’s called moisture cured moisture. Cured specifically is talking about how they drive, how they cure. There’s a drying time. And then there’s also curing time. So let’s talk about that real quickly. You know, when you paint your cabinet doors, you paint your doors on your home or our, our door inside your home or out in the outside and about three hours later it’s right. So you go to shut the door and then the next day when you go to open it, it stuck because it had not fully cured. It had dried to touch but not fully cured. And that’s exactly what we’re talking about. There’s a moisture curing and then there’s a drying time drying time, make sure that the process can have rain on it so it can rain build up on it.

But the moisture curing actually allows moisture in the environment which comes to the product and causes the product to dry and cure. And that’s basically the difference between that and a lot of the other coatings that we use.
