Welcome again to advanced commercial systems podcast. Today is our 85th week in a row, uh, that we have been having podcast here with advanced commercial systems. We are a professional commercial roofing company in the Greater Tulsa, greater broken error area in commercial roofing broken arrow. This week’s podcast. We’re going to kind of pick up where we left off last week. We had a, a normal size podcast last week, but in the middle of that we didn’t get to finish all the information where we were talking about spray polyurethane foam roofing, uh, most commonly called SPF roofing in commercial roofing. Broken Arrow, we covered the benefits of a spray foam roofing. We’ve covered a little bit of what it’s about, how it can work and how we cover it with a base coat and a top coat. So real quickly, just to touch base again, let’s go over real quickly some of those, uh, spray foam benefits of why this is a good and it has some good aspects of this.

Roofing does, um, lightweight. It’s high strength, it’s a, has a strong adhesion which causes it to have an, a very strong resistance to up uplift, you know, like a wind uplift for in storms and you know, high winds. It is weather resistant. It is self flashing. As we talked about last week. Sell flashing means you every time I’m like a single ply roofing or even a, um, you know, if you put down mod bit or any other time it cut type of roofing, many times you have to have a flashing of the age or termination bar. You have to have something where it comes up to the edges of the HVHC units and mechanical equipment. Um, but this, you don’t, you just spray it and it actually itself becomes the flashing. It has an extremely high insulation value or our value. And then when you coat it with a coating that makes it a where it will have the r value resistance, the UV, uh, Sun Resistance, the UV ray resistance of the whatever coding that you use for the base and the top coat.

And so then also if you create actually a leak free seal, like a monolithic seal over your entire roof, over your roof decking, you’re creating that seal. So there’s some of the benefits of this foam roofing SVF. And we, we covered the protective coatings aspect of it. We covered the energy, your star ratings and some of the different aspects of that and some of the benefits of also the installation side of that. Um, let’s get a little bit more into the r value. So spray SPF spray Propoleum you’re throwing your poly urethane foam roofing. It really has a great our value in this about six per inch. Now that’s if you, if you know anything about, um, you know, uh, ISO board and insulation for above deck roofing. That’s, and that’s not bad considering it actually itself is the roofing product itself. Now that’s your own, an average of six.

Our value per inch in broken Arrow and in commercial roofing broken arrow. Um, because really depending upon the particular, uh, you know, their phone that you use, the formulation that you use and the style in which you applicated. Um, but you know, the higher our values can definitely be achieved if you know what you’re doing. And that’s what we do here at advanced commercial systems. And so this enables us, um, that we, we can provide the r value and the thermal resistance that’s needed for our clients with we need to, you know, begin to work towards getting 21 our value for a routine system. If we’re coming in with a spray foam on top of a roofing system that’s already there, or we can put down, uh, multiple layers of ISO and then we can cover it with a spray foam at the end. And so there’s many things that we can do with this product.

We just want to make sure we either really well mechanically adhere the original base roofing system or in, you know, especially in commercial roofing Broken Arrow. Okay. So preventing moisture pregame, preventing air, preventing gas filtration or infiltration. That’s a large part of what we found. There’s been studies that shown that close somewhere between 35 and 45% of a building’s energy loss is because of air moving back and forth and a loss of air because of infiltration. I guarantee you when you do, when you build a metal roof and metal building, there’s tons of air losing, you know, leaving out of that building, you know, um, the regular fiberglass installation that you’re very familiar with. Um, when they staple that in, when they put that in wall areas and wall spaces and cavities, it doesn’t do and really create a seal that’s monolithic and it doesn’t create a seal that’s airtight.

And so SPF, this roofing system creates an airtight system. It’s stops the air leakage and it has the highest, our value per inch, a really of any other commercial material that you’re going to find. We can go all the way, probably up to seven r value depending on how it’s mixed. We’re, you know, fiberglass years. Traditional fiberglass insulation is around. The r value is really around 3.5 to 4.2. Um, so when it comes to your building or your home, um, this SPF roofing is a great for insulation and the air barrier is a big deal because you are reducing as well at the same time the moisture infiltration. And so when it comes to um, molds, especially some dangerous modes forming mildew and things along that line, they can create a lot of health problems to the people in the building documents. Um, so in commercial roofing, broken air, we use SPF roofing for many different reasons and the moisture infiltration is a very large part of, once again, we’ll go through these real quick again, um, stops air and moisture infiltration.

It stops that it saves on energy costs. Uh, it is permanent and will not sag. So that’s something you need to about this roofing system. It’s not going to sag if the decades in good place, the phone will hold it shape and it will not sag like other products had been known to do in the past. And so overall your buildings building stability, um, because of the, the seamlessness of it, of the his system and the monolithic meaning. It’s all just like one piece. Because of that, um, you’re completely enhancing your building, the overall stability of your building from, from, you know, from one edge of the roof to the other. And then also now as a sound, um, reducer. It does, it works really well is that you know, in sound reducing as well. So, so these were the benefits of what we find. Um, and energy star ratings.

You would just have to go and where we can pull up some information for you and show you some about energy star ratings and we can show you how the integer star ratings are so good with SPF roofing. Now I’m not trying to sell you, um, you know, SPF roofing, I’m trying to tell you all the good sides to it. There are really a few bad sides, which I will always want to try to point out because we want to be balanced in the good and bad. Every roofing system has as good every roof in his system. Has this bad, uh, like for instance, modified bitumen. You can’t just get up there with a sharp screwdriver or a rock in your shoe and walk on modified bitumen and really create a leak. It is a very hard, very strong, um, you know, rollout ply roofing and it’s, it’s, it’s really good for what it does not.

You can get a rock or something sharp and you’re under your foot or a screwdriver and you can get up on a TPO, PVC or epds and you could rip holes in that thing which could cause tons of tons of a leaking everywhere. But which one would I choose? I would choose TPO over all the others because of its uh, its cost effectiveness. It’s uh, installation, uh, effectiveness. And then also just basically, uh, it is a great product if once you put it down cause if installed correctly, you just monitor the activity that’s happens on the roof, you know, like Hvhc guys, mechanical guys getting up there, cranes moving HPAC equipment around and stuff like that. You just want to make sure the roof is being taken care of and it really have that in your contract and have that in your warranty. We put in our warranties if anyone else comes along after we’ve done a roof and damaged this roof in commercial roofing, broken Arrow, we’re not responsible for any damage that they did and literally with the last contract that they’d like that the last contract warranty I did, I could, if anyone gets on this roof and does anything to the roofing system at all, all warranties is done from the on because if our client, he trusted us to put it on a $60,000 roof, will not trust us to be the people to take care of everything else for them on the roof, you know, obviously not HVHC.

We’re not, we’re not licensed for that. We don’t do that. But I think at other people up there to do other things to the roof, the roofing system and not us after we’ve installed it, then their warranty is void. And so I made sure I put that in there. Last a warranty that we did for the last full replacement roof that we did. We’d put on 21 our value and it was a liberty mutual insurance job. And now everything has worked out really well. We put a 60 MIL TPO on, they’re terminated, all the ages put in HVHC units, everything ran really well and we’ve had no problems. It’s been a great roof system and the warranty is going to, I gave a really long warranty with that system because I knew it would sit there for 20 years and not have any problems. And so now I didn’t give a 20 year warranty, but I gave about half of that because I know the roof’s gonna sit there and not have any issues.

You know, the wells have been good. We checked all the welds, uh, all of the same as well. And so that’s something you don’t deal with with SPF roof. And you don’t have scenes, you know it is monolithic from one edge to the other. It is a roofing system flashed off by itself in commercial roof and broken narrative really has it really does a great job at what it is and so if you’re interested in SPF roof and go check out our website is okay. Roof nerds.com you can go check us out at advanced commercial systems. Today is our 85th podcast. We’re coming to an engineer. When you go to our website, you can look at the top of the page. It says (918) 973-1010 that’s right next to the red f. When you scroll over the red F it turns blue. Now that is a link to our Facebook page.

If you want to check out current jobs, we’re doing jobs, we’ve just finished things going on. Specifically Day to day. If you just like, Hey, I’m considering using [inaudible]. Advanced commercial systems is not roofer I’d like to see are they really do jobs? There’s are things really taking place out there. You just click on that APP and you go to our Facebook page and you’ll see immediately the jobs. We are currently doing jobs, we finished a lots of photos of before and after shots. You’ll see some shots where we found hail damage and show the insurance company and they’ve completely paid $60,000 for a roof paid every penny for the roof, except for, you know, $500 deductible. And so I think if you, if you were on a commercial building and you can’t afford your $500 deductible, then a, I don’t know what to tell you, you probably don’t know how to run business very well. So, Hey, this is Marty signing out from our podcast today. If you need anything, give us a call once again, (918) 973-1010. We appreciate you here at [inaudible] advanced commercial systems and once and for all stay dry.
