Today, we are here in the office, uh, that advanced commercial systems. Again, home with a roof nerds. We are a commercial roofing company and the Greater Tulsa area in commercial roofing, broken arrow. And we’ve been doing podcast for quite some time now for well over a, uh, what is it, 170 podcasts that we’ve been doing. And so these podcasts have multiple purposes, one of which is to educate, uh, our potential clients and our current clients. And really just to educate the entire region, um, of more about commercial roofing. You know, haven’t been in the industry for many years. And having talked to where I primarily talk with a lot of building owners and property managers, I’ve come to find that there’s, there’s a really a, a deficit of information of def deficit of, of knowledge, um, that, that building owners have about their roofs. And so we step in as a commercial roofing company, continually doing repairs, continuing doing replacements, doing roof maintenance plans. Like we have a, what’s called the smart roof plan. We put these plans together, we put all these systems together and when we go to do these for our clients, they don’t really know what we’re talking about. So, so we won’t are desiring to do what we call increase our clients a commercial roofing Iq.

You know, some people talk about cre increasing their financial Iq. Um, some people talk about taking an Iq test. Well, we’re not wanting to test anyone here in Tulsa or you know, the Greater Tulsa area, especially here in commercial roofing broken arrow. But we are wanting to make sure everyone understands basic terminology. And you know, I’m, I’m, I’ll continually think about the, the, the book that Robert Kiyosaki wrote, um, increasing your financial Iq. He basically said the one thing that you can do to increase your Iq the quickest is to begin to be familiar with the terminology of that industry of, of finances. And so that’s the one thing that we do a lot here with advanced commercial systems on our podcast, which we then turn into articles and post on our website. Uh, we love to talk about different terminology and different things. You know, in the industry.

So one word, um, that we, we talk a lot about is the word coding, c, O, a, t. I. N, g, the word coding. What is a coding? And that’s today is our topic. And, and, and it is a very familiar topic to us. We, we use coatings every single day, every single day. Uh, actually, um, I have some jobs tomorrow to do, I’ll buy some coatings tomorrow morning, um, from a local manufacturer, a local supplier here in town, and to do some of those coatings. So, so coding is basically, um, a many times a wide, but always coding is a liquid that is a chemical base liquid that has been created to almost like paint that goes on a roof, a roof membrane or the upper watertight or supposedly watertight part of a roof system that just basically like painting a wall, seals in the cracks. It just fills in all the areas and it creates a new membrane on top of whatever roof you put it on.

And so you can imagine if you had a roof that’s really dirty, if you were to try to paint it or put a coating on, you can imagine how there’d be a problem, right? So there’s a lot of different basic rules in commercial roofing broken Arrow that we have to follow to keep, uh, our coatings due to be installed or applied correctly. A roof systems have to be clean. Um, there’s a lot of gapping and whole areas that would need to be taken care of now, um, to make sure that the coding gets a good, uh, a good seal and really creates just a new elastic. Now that’s one of the parts we want to talk about. A new, uh, fully sealed elastic. A one we’ll just like one, one single ply almost on top with no seams. And that’s what the coding does. It can come in and create just a whole new membrane, a seamless membrane across the entire roof and even on up the parapet walls, uh, and, and other penetration areas around it.

So that’s a big part of what coatings do. They are recreating a seamless water tight membrane on top of whatever roofing system you currently have there. And so there are scenes many times on the roof below the coding before we install or apply the coating. And many times those scenes need to be taken care of and we need to do what do what it is. Um, you know, whether it’s using cloth, whether it’s using plastic sermon or whatever it is to fill in those coatings, those cracks on those scenes. And then making sure the seams are not going to, uh, to open after the coating has been, you know, been applied in commercial roofing, broken arrow. So there’s a, there’s two main ways of applying a coding, one of which is to spray and larger jobs would definitely use a sprayer and a, there’s different types of coatings, but we’re not going to get into the acrylic coatings or the last Americ or you know, uh, polyurea coatings.

Uh, we’re not going to get into the rubber coatings or silicone coatings. That’s just too much to talk about today. But we are going to talk about the different ways to apply. The two main ways is that of spraying with a sprayer. And the other is a role on now you can brush on too. But you know, I don’t know many people that really brush on very much because the row lawn with most coding works really, really well. We do mostly row lawn on smaller jobs. You know, if it’s, if it’s three squares or under or maybe even a eight squares are under would definitely use a roll on because the cleaning of the spray machine, those things are kind of challenging in commercial roofing, broken Arrow and it just takes quite a bit of time to be able to do that. So, um, let’s cover some of the aspects of what coatings are about.

Um, now, so one of the aspects of coding is the, how they give an eco value to your building. And what they do is because of their reflective capabilities, uh, cause they can reflect up to 85% of the UV rays now. So that’s a big deal. When you or have an energy costs, you have a large building, you didn’t, might not have much installation on the building to reroof. The building with new installation would be just staggering and price a coding can be applied to the entire roof and create a reflective value of 85% of the sun’s UV rays. So, and so that being the case and dropping the temperature in the building and creating such a value for the building owner, what we find is normally from seven, from five to seven years, um, the coatings pay for themselves. And so that’s kind of a good aspect.

Um, now there’s another aspect of coding, um, where we could use what’s called an SPF or spray foam spray, polyurethane foam, and the spray, Paula, you were failing phone can be applied to your roof. And then after that we could put a coating on top of that to protect the phone. So one aspect of that is that during the winter months, that spray foam actually becomes insulation and it does work exactly as installation for your building. And so for heat to get in or, or code to get in, um, a and it keeps also heat inside. So the spray foam is a good aspect of what we can combine with the coding to create, uh, you know, what you need to, to help your building stay in the temperature that you want. And so one of the functions of the coating is almost to create like that of a turtle shell. You know how a turtle has a shale and for everything on the top side, he’s completely water. You know, he completely, he shedding, uh, any problems, any water is coming his way.

And so the coding is, is designed to shield the building from all types of weather. Now one of the big aspects is cutting back on the, the staggering cost of having to do a for placement. Um, when you have to take off the entire roof or even take off a part of the low roof and add on a new, especially with a full replacement, the system, um, the coding is going to be by far, much more inexpensive and going to be a greater project for you as far as your pocket book is concerned here in commercial roofing broken arrow. And so coatings put on correctly that can withstand a great wind. They can withstand hail, uh, because they are attached to the current fabric. They don’t just pill up and blow away. So they’re a great product. Uh, and then also just their weight. They’re extremely lightweight.

It is of extremely lightweight solution for a roof that doesn’t need a lot of extra weight put on it and there’s no seams. We creating a, basically a watertight, uh, seem a watertight finish. And so those are big aspects of the coding. And then also you can meet or exceed, um, all of the standards for fire and four code. Like with the National Roofing Contractors Association, they’ll point you to the international building code. So there’s plenty of codes and there’s strict standards they can be met. Um, continually buy a coatings. They have really become a large part of the commercial roofing industry. And then last but not least, they enable really quick service of two repairs and inexpensive repairs. And so oftentimes just a small bucket and repair something where there’s been a problem. So, so these are the aspects of coatings we want to thank you for joining in with us today. Uh, that’s what coding is all about as a liquid applied, um, product that we put on to create basically a new watertight member and on the roof. Hey, thanks for joining in with us today here in commercial roofing, broken arrow. Uh, we are glad to do these podcasts for you guys. If you have any question at anytime, you know, here in Tulsa, Claremore Coweta Bixby, Owasso broken Arrow, it doesn’t matter here in commercial roofing, broken error, we love to serve you guys, so have a good day.
