Here at advanced commercial systems. We absolutely love commercial roofing and it shows every single day. So we have been talking over the last, I don’t know, probably seven or eight podcasts. We’ve been talking about some specific aspects of commercial roofing, one of which is TPO roofing. We’ve covered things along the line of the radiant of the UV reflectance ability of TPO. So just think about that. Think about this for a second. You’re down in here in Oklahoma and during the summertime the sun is just beating down on your building and your, your, your cooling costs is getting more challenging and more challenging here in commercial roofing broken arrow. I mean, do you remember about three or four years ago, we had a whole month, almost every day over like 2025 days were over 100 degrees. Do you remember that? And we actually had a record high and I remember that day just like it was, it was such a, such an infamous day to me that it was a 115 degrees that day.

It was kind of shocking to me that it could just be so hot. It was really shocking. And I’ll tell you the other thing that was shocking about that was although it was a, you know, 115 to great degrees, the hottest day ever recorded in Oklahoma, um, it wasn’t so hot that it was unbearable. And so I think one of the reasons for that was because basically the humidity wasn’t real high. The heat sucked it all up. And so if you would’ve put some humidity with that 115 degrees, I think people would have been just fallen over and die and immediately, like spontaneous combustion, right? People would just be falling over, dad just couldn’t be able to handle it. So here with advanced commercial systems, we have been talking for some time about different aspects of that TPO roof. Well imagine 115 degree day and imagine having a black roof on your commercial building and that sun is just barreling down and just getting soaked up into that black asphalt roof.

So with the temperatures that we receive that just pounding on a dark black roof, if you have a modified bitumen that’s can be many times that dark gray. If you have a black roof, it’s an asphalt roof. It’s a built up roof, uh, that doesn’t have a gravel aggregate on top. And so your roof is just, and then also, let’s say your roof was built 15, 20 years ago in commercial roofing, broken Arrow toll. So Claremore anywhere you are, your roof was built years and years ago. And here’s the ticket. Um, you literally literally have no insulation above decking. There’s a reason why, um, the internationalbuilding code, which we adhere to here in broken Arrow in Oklahoma for commercial roofs, um, there’s a reason why they’re asking for 21 our value above decade. So if you completely do a replacement roof and you take it all the way down to the decade and rebuild the roof again, or if you’re doing a new construction roof, they’re literally requiring 21 our value above decking own ply roofs.

Now, if you’re putting the metal roof in, you don’t have, there is no insulation above, you know, above decking because your, your metal roof literally is your decking. But that 21 our value when you put on poly ISO board, it literally equals three and one half inches of insulation. So when it comes to needing a roof that’s going to save you some money, the number one thing you want to do is try to find a roof. It’s going to save you energy and save you, save you energy cost over a long period of time. Well, if someone says, well, I just need the cheapest roof I can get. Okay, so what if you save yourself $10,000 and install a cheaper roof? But the next thing you know over the next five years, you spent more than $10,000 on extra heating and cooling costs because the roof that you had installed kinda sucks and doesn’t have any capability for energy efficiency.

That’s why here at advanced commercial systems, when we sit down with you and we share with you the different budgets we share with you, the different roof styles and systems we want to specifically share with you the energy savings that TPO roof give you because they are reflective of UV rays. Those you review v raise are not heating your roof. They’re not coming down. I’m telling you, I’ve seen this literally, I’ve gotten on a roof that has a black asphalt and has a TPO side by side. I can go over and put my hand on the asphalt on a 90 degree day. It’s not like it’s just really hot on a 90 degree day. That black asphalt, I can only hold my hand there about one second before my hand starts to burn. It literally is hot on a 90 degree day. It’s sucking in the heat. It’s sucking in here in commercial roofing broken arrow. You can then turn right over the same, I mean one second later, put your hand on a white TPO and it feels like it’s about 70 degrees. It doesn’t feel like as 120 540 degrees, it feels about 70 huge difference and that is the savings you continually get with the heating and cooling costs

when you use these energy efficient reflectant roofs. These are the kinds of things that we bring to you in the advice we bring to you here at advanced scores with systems. We don’t just sit down and try to sell your roof. We share with you all of the possibilities of the best different scenarios that you need for your commercial roofing, broken air problem. 24 hour roof evaluation. So we’re talking about energy efficiency of TPO. We’re about the UV rays were talking about how your roof stays cool. You know, some of the roofing manufacturers like versa co, there are different TPO manufacturing companies that literally call themselves the cool roof system. They literally refer to their roofs as cool roofs. There are so good at reflecting the UV. Now let me say they’re white. I mean you’ve obviously know that when you wear a white shirt in the sun, you’re a hundred times better off than wearing a black shirt. That black just somehow sucks in the heat and you can overheat pretty quickly wearing black clothes. And so in the winter time where black and the summer, it puts some white off and put a white thermoset thermo, I’m sorry. There were actually, there are white thermoset roofs too. That’s like there are white EPD teams put on a white, uh, epds or TPO

PVC. Now, real quick, I say the terminology EPBM that’s a thermo set, single ply roof. I see the terminology all the time. T V, O and p, v. C, those are the two thermal plastics that are in the industry. So if you’re ever questioning what are those about? Well, we’re going to cover right now exactly what those roofs are about

and why they’re so important to know the difference between the TPO and the PVC. Two completely different roofs. Uh, but still look the same.

Uh, it’s sometimes really even hard for some people to see the differences. And I want you to know that we are so our, when it comes to PVC roof, so we also are a, we are professionally trained and certified for installing PVC roofs. There is a product called Dura last, the Dura last product a is a really good product that works actually the, that when they started making the Dura last product back in a long ago, not anywhere near here. I’ve commercial roofing, broken arrow. When they begin to make the Duro last product, they begin, uh, before.
